Dressing for self-expression and fearless confidence!
What’s spring without a big hit of color?
Red is well-known for its seductive powers, and we both feel it is the the fiercest shade in the wardrobe for a trailblazing Spring. We jumped into this editorial layering different (but compatible) shades of crimson for power moves and playful laughs. Wearing fiery red always helps boost our mood, stamina and confidence. Not for the shy or faint of heart, our favorite bold color will satisfy anyone drawn to making a strong statement.
A lot of people write to me asking why I don’t wear jeans or pants, and then proceed to ask if it is ‘okay’ to wear pants. Of course it is okay to wear pants (and whatever else you want), as long as you are comfortable in them! Personally I find pants very restrictive and love to wear skirts for comfort and mobility. But last week I embraced something new and bought the silkiest, loveliest crimson pants from H&M that feel like pajamas. I had to add a feminine touch by pairing these relaxed pants with a bright red corset. I satisfied all of my current fetishes…including my corset over blouse obsession, my sparkly chocker addiction, and (duh) my monochrome craze.
I resisted the urge to stop at just a pop – instead I created a long line of color that is often visually slimming and stunning. As (almost) always I opted for pairing feminine (my light and silky dress) with masculine (my tough puffer jacket). I find an addictive balance in this combination, and I can’t seem to ever walk way from the habit of combining my daily outfit in this manner.
I’ve been obsessed with my red Ienki Ienki Puffer Jacket ever since I first tried it on, and even though it feels like summer has arrived, I have desperately been trying to wear it during the few, last remaining rainy California days.
