This month has been power packed with new collaborations, projects, and a sophisticated upgrade to our website! Stay tuned – the next couple of weeks will be full of fun editorial surprises for you! Breaking new boundaries, facing challenges head on, disrupting old hierarchies and working with exciting new clients has catalyzed a euphoric feeling we like to call being ‘top of our game’. And when you are feeling on top of the world, why not create a visual story to celebrate? Our inspiration evolved from nostalgic memories of the good ole days of powerful glamazon supermodels that always embodied strong Goddess-like energy and an attitude of endless summer.
Naturally we wanted to capture this empowering feeling through a location that evoked a visually dynamic context… after all, our favorite activity is building fantasy lands through creative directing. We drove up to San Francisco’s Twin Peaks – two prominent hills with an elevation of about 925 feet showing off the most beautiful ariel view of the city. Leonardo DiCaprio’s infamous Titanic line “I am the King of the world” did come to mind… except maybe in this context we were going for Empresses of the world. We had a huge vision in mind, which naturally got thwarted by the CRAZY freezing winds. After attempting to capture some great shots and failing miserably due to the wind, we had to give up and head to a different part of SF for a meeting. We thought our whole shoot was lost, until we spotted an excellent rooftop view of the city from our parking garage! As the sun was close to setting and golden hour approached, we found our magic silver lining and captured what we wanted! This experience taught us two important lessons – the power of wearing an attitude of abundance at all times, and embracing the influence imperfection and mistakes when things don’t go as planned.
Brazen, artful, naughty. Francesca
embraced the iconic Amazonian moment of the 80s and 90s with lots of red, pink lips and wind blown hair. A bit of Cindy Crawford meets Brooke Shields with a Noami attitude. Inspired by these iconic brunettes who makes the case for an endless summer, Francesca’s striking Diane von Furstenburg top
flowed effortlessly into her jungle print silk shorts enhanced by a vintage floral Geisha inspired belt. And she couldn’t resist adding the punch of pink from her new Goex bag
she purchased on a recent trip to Milan.
Also inspired by the freshness of summer and its colors, timeless white, and the buzz of the city, Valentina conquered the streets (and roofs) of San Francisco exuding confidence and bliss. She took what she usually wears as an evening dress and turned it into a fun day look. Something as simple as adjusting the length, and adding accessories can completely change the mood of an outfit to a more playful one.
