We love the feeling of being city adventurers in outfits so comfortable yet so eclectic that we can roam from one exploit to the next with ease and style. Creating your own version of street style is so fun because you can easily integrate elements from different arenas with basics. We are constantly inspired by intriguing styles we observe on the street. This week when Rihanna (the superstar of street style) made her NYFW debut at Fenty x Puma, it became clear to us that her fearless street chic ingenuity is being embraced by all!
Our challenge to you: master the art of the two Cs – comfort and cool. When you truly break down awesome street style, it usually consists of one classic, well tailored item paired with layered basics and then the addition of funky pieces as the icing on the cake.
Francesca loves pink and can’t run away from her favorite color. She mixed her comfortable scalloped pink shorts with a sophisticated navy-blue tailored jacket. To add something eclectic and culturally personal, she wore a beautiful embroidered Indian top given to her many years ago by her Indian Aunts. Channeling her inner teenage boy, she topped off her outfit with hip hop flair in the form of a bold red baseball hat.
Valentina paired her classic black coat with one of her favourite pieces of all time – the flowy skirt. Summer or winter wearing skirts always makes Valentina feel free yet graceful. Walking the streets of Oakland in this mustard-yellow skirt was a breeze. Feeling inspired by the gorgeous weather she added a vibrant flower print blouse. And the Cali hat brought forward an urban jungle element to this breezy ‘spring time is almost here‘ look.
