We love being active everyday and trying new, inspiring workouts that keep our bodies and minds in great shape! But lets be honest – at 6am when the duvet is tucked around you like a cozy cocoon, working out is a serious text of willpower! Want to know one thing that’s sure to help you get moving? Seriously fun clothes! (And coffee). Looking your best in dynamic, colorful activewear can definitely help to get you out the door and into your next class!
Looking good empowers us to stay motivated at the gym. We find color inspiring and uplifting, so you will find piles of colorful, patterned shorts and leggings in our closets. But each to her own! If black makes you feel sleek and sexy, go for it! We suggest every girl has a couple pairs of compression leggings (Lululemon and Alo Yoga offer awesome tailoring), some sturdy tanks with built in bras, and some cute cover ups that can easily be whipped off in the middle of an intense sweat session.
What are your current favorite workouts? How are you sticking to your 2016 fitness resolutions?
Francesca loves mixing up cardio like running and ballet classes with regular strength training in the form of Bar Method or Pilates classes. This combination has helped strengthen her core and keep her back and joints injury free from high impact. She paired her favorite Lululemon patterned leggings (that remind her of dip in dots ice cream) with a comfortable tank and hot pink hoodie. Patterned leggings can be scary to wear, but if you find the right fit (not too tight please!) and fabric they can be super energizing and playful. Francesca recommends investing in higher quality brands for patterned leggings, because your booty is not going to look cute in a cheap see-through fabric or awkward fit!
Valentina rarely sticks to only wearing plain workout clothes you find in the sporty section of the store. Sure, those can be great, an example are the Nike shorts she chose for this look, but where she has the most fun is when she combines those with pieces from the rest of her wardrobe. Here she chose to add a blast of color with blue ballet tights, and a cheeky “It’s Not Me, It’s You” sweater. When things get too heated the layers can come off… Ideally having a stylish sports bra, or a cropped tank top underneath lets you have a more comfortable workout. You’ll find Valentina wearing this to her favorite cardio boxing class, or on a rest day, getting through the daily grind.
