Have you ever noticed that clothes come alive and tell a story?
Last week we both randomly bought the same earthy green blouse, and thought it would be fun to style this ethereal top in two versatile, different ways. As we contemplated our purchase, the green tone struck us like lightening and reminded us of jungles far away, and the idea of adventuring to exotic places of discovery a la Indiana Jones. This top reminded us to bring forth the adventurous cool girl we all have within, and channel the urge to explore and challenge ourselves in the world.
We shot our adventurous looks at the New Guinea Sculpture Garden at Stanford – created in 1994 through a collaboration between Stanford anthropologist, Jim Mason, and ten artists from the Middle Sepik River region of Papua New Guinea. The captivating garden is filled with stone and wooden sculptures that communicate clan stories and creation myths.
